Gold Coast companies called to tender for social housing construction project

The Palaszczuk Government has called on Gold Coast companies to tender for the construction of a two-storey social housing apartment complex at Labrador.
Minister for Housing and Public Works Mick de Brenni said that the Government was determined to make sure locals were involved in the work.
“We’ll be encouraging local contractors to get involved with the project, which will include building four two-bedroom apartments over two stories, in addition to a four-bay carpark with two disabled parking spaces,” Mr de Brenni said.
“One of the apartments will be built to the Platinum Level of Livable Housing Design Guidelines to accommodate residents with mobility impairment.
“This construction project will increase social housing availability in the area and provide jobs and income for local tradies, such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, concreters, glaziers, and cabinet makers.”
